My daughter, shall I not seek rest or a home for you, that you may prosper?” Ruth 3:1
About The Grace House Tennessee
A Residential Program of The Grace House Ministries
The Grace House Tennessee is the founding branch of The Grace House—a Christ-centered, faith-based residential program offering transitional housing for women seeking freedom from addiction and a path to lasting transformation.
Our program includes two residential homes:
-
The Grace House 1, founded and directed by Chelsea Bryant, who leads with both compassion and conviction, having walked the path of recovery herself.
-
The Grace House 2, located on a peaceful, donated property called Ruth Meadows, named in honor of Donna Ruth Salleé, founder of Fresh Hope Ministries (est. 2001), whose legacy of faith and restoration continues through every woman we serve as we move forward with all of our ministries under the name: The Grace House Ministries, Inc.
The Grace House operates a structured 5-phase residential program, designed to equip each woman with the spiritual, practical, and emotional tools she needs to succeed. We focus on whole-life recovery—where sobriety is only the beginning. Our phases include goal-setting, healing, accountability, and preparation for independence.
We offer a safe and secure environment while women work toward personalized goals, such as:
-
Paying off legal fines
-
Obtaining a driver’s license
-
Completing court-ordered classes or probation requirements
-
Developing job readiness and life skills
-
Rebuilding their identity in Christ
In addition to our residential program, The Grace House Tennessee also hosts:
-
Crowned With Splendor Tennessee – An annual identity-focused event celebrating the royal calling of women in Christ.
-
Impact Recovery Meetings – Bi-weekly gatherings offering community, accountability, and Spirit-led support for ongoing recovery.
Every aspect of The Grace House Ministries is rooted in grace, truth, and transformation. We are committed to not just helping women survive—but equipping them to thrive.

Chelsea Bryant
Founder & Director – The Grace House Tennessee
About Chelsea
I was born and raised in Newport, Tennessee, and graduated from Covenant Christian Academy in 2006. Shortly after, I answered the call to serve and joined the Army, completing basic training in 2007 and serving in the Tennessee National Guard and Army Reserve until 2014.
But my life took an unexpected turn. In 2011, after walking through a deeply painful trauma, I found myself caught in the grip of prescription drug addiction. My arrest on October 3 of that year marked both the lowest point of my life—and the beginning of my healing. That day became my clean date, and within weeks, I rededicated my life to the Lord.
In January 2012, I entered the City of Hope rehabilitation program, and later that year, I was sentenced to federal prison for a non-violent drug offense. What could have broken me became my turning point. While alone in my cell, I was baptized in the Holy Ghost—an encounter with God that changed everything.
By God’s grace and new legislation, I was released three years early in 2015. After a transitional season in a halfway house, I returned to Newport and began rebuilding my life. I worked faithfully from 2015 to 2019 and launched my own cleaning business in 2019 while also serving full-time with Perry Smith Development.
Then came the flood.
That devastating event not only impacted our community—it awakened a promise I had made to God during my darkest days: to open a safe, Christ-centered place for women seeking recovery and restoration.
On October 7, 2022, that promise was fulfilled. God opened the doors for The Grace House, a residential program for women desiring freedom, healing, and purpose. Since our opening, we’ve celebrated nine graduates—each walking out their new beginning with a 100% success rate.
At The Grace House, recovery is about more than sobriety. It’s about wholeness, identity, and purpose. We prepare women not just to get clean—but to thrive.
My story is living proof of what God can do with a surrendered heart. I’m not here because I’m perfect—I’m here because I’ve been redeemed. And now, I get to walk with other women as they discover the same grace that changed my life forever.

Pastor Donna Sallee’, D. Div.
The Grace House Ministries, Inc. Founder
(Formerly Fresh Hope Ministries Inc,)

Ruth Meadows, the name of the property where The Grace House 2 is located, and also the transitional phase of The Grace House program is designed to support women as they step into independence. Graduates of The Grace House will have the opportunity to move into tiny homes or campers, as space allows, providing them with an affordable and stable environment where they can save money for their future home and build a solid foundation for lasting success.
The name Ruth Meadows holds deep significance, not only as a tribute to the biblical Ruth—a woman of resilience, faith, and new beginnings—but also as a reflection of a cherished family legacy. The name Ruth has been carried through four generations of Donna’s Sallee’s family, representing strength, perseverance, and hope. Just as a meadow provides a place for growth and preparation, Ruth Meadows will serve as a peaceful transition space where women can prepare for their next season in life.
Because of Donna’s incredible act of generosity, we are expanding our program with a second Grace House location. This home will be named The Grace House 2, continuing our mission of providing a safe place for women to experience transformation, hope, and a fresh start.

Program Structure
We are a Christ-centered nonprofit, so our program features proven Bible based curriculum from the Recovery Bible. Because it’s based on the Word of God, our program changes more than learned behavior. We believe It transforms hearts, thus bringing healing and freedom to hurting women, with the results being a turn around in their entire lives.
- Life Skills Training – Each resident receives training in the areas of cooking, cleaning, managing a home environment, and managing a budget. These skills are taught in a class format and in a practical way, as each resident is responsible for assigned chores in the home.
- Classroom Time – Each resident receives classroom teaching on forgiveness, anger management, setting boundaries, and other global principles to be applied in specific counseling sessions.
- Bible Classes – Each resident participates in daily worship and Bible reading.
- Outside Activities – There are many opportunities for residents to experience components of life outside the walls of the home.
- Swimming (we love to swim each summer and have tons of tubes)
- Hiking
- Cookouts
- Bowling
- These are a few activities that allow residents to experience life outside of The Grace House on a small scale so they can begin preparing to make decisions without the direct guidance of staff.
- On Fridays, residents go on an outing to a local mall for shopping and lunch, as well as a local Target or Walmart for toiletries and other personal items.
- Residents will be able to attend conferences, appropriate concerts and movies when tickets are donated.
- Saturdays are a day off for the residents and they can sleep in, relax, and watch movies.
